Use the marked button-cell contacts, match the + and − sides, and hold the cell so both contacts touch. Check the markings and supplied instructions for the supported voltage.

Can it test every lithium or rechargeable battery?

Use only the battery sizes and voltages supported by the tester’s markings and instructions. Rechargeable and lithium chemistries have different voltage characteristics, so a simple indication should not be treated as a precise capacity measurement.

What if the display does not respond?

Check the battery position, polarity and clean contact surfaces. Try a supported battery known to work, following the supplied instructions.

Does it charge the battery?

No—it checks battery condition. Use a suitable charger for rechargeable batteries.
